Volunteer Role - Beaverdale Fall Festival - Board of Directors
The Director of Sales plays a crucial role in generating revenue for the Beaverdale Fall Festival through the successful management of beverage, merchandise, and other sales initiatives and the execution of marketing strategies to increase attendance and enhance brand visibility.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Execution:
Identify and develop new sales opportunities for beverages and merchandise.
Plan and manage the overall beverage and merchandise operations during the festival.
Collaborate with the Events team to ensure synergy between beverage sales and festival events.
Sales Operations:
Oversee the setup and management of POS systems and credit card processing.
Monitor sales performance and identify areas for improvement.
Marketing & Brand Management
Develop and execute comprehensive marketing campaigns.
Identify and utilize appropriate marketing channels, including social media, print, digital, and community outreach.
Track and analyze marketing campaign effectiveness.
Enhance and maintain a strong brand identity for the festival.
Develop and manage marketing materials, including flyers, posters, website content, promotional content, and signage for the festival.
Board Support:
Actively participate in Board meetings and contribute to effective governance.
Provide input on sales-related decisions and strategies.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in merchandising, marketing, advertising, or communications.
Strong understanding of marketing principles and best practices.
Proficiency in social media marketing and digital advertising.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Passion for the Beaverdale Community.
Comfortable using online technologies, including Google Drive/Gmail.
Time Commitment
3-year term
Regular Board meetings and additional time for various duties.
A larger time commitment in the months around the Festival (July through Mid October)
Availability on-site during the festival, including setup and tear-down (Thursday-Sunday).
Expectations
All board members are expected to follow the festival's Board Member Code of Conduct and By-Laws.
