Volunteer Role - Beaverdale Fall Festival - Board of Directors
The Director of Vendors plays a crucial role in the festival by overseeing all aspects of vendor participation, from recruitment and selection to on-site management and support.
Key Responsibilities
Vendor Management:
Recruit and select a diverse range of food, commercial, and other vendors for the festival.
Develop and implement vendor rules, communication protocols, and selection criteria.
Manage vendor assignments, layout, and on-site operations.
Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor issues and inquiries.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure vendor compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards.
Liaise with city food and fire inspectors as needed.
Board Support:
Actively participate in Board meetings and contribute to effective governance.
Provide input on vendor-related decisions and strategies.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in vendor management, event planning, or customer service.
Strong organizational, problem-solving and conflict-resolution, and communication skills.
Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with vendors.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Passion for the Beaverdale Community.
Comfortable using online technologies, including Google Drive/Gmail.
Time Commitment
3-year term
Regular Board meetings and additional time for various duties.
A larger time commitment in the months around the Festival (July through Mid October)
Availability on-site during the festival, including setup and tear-down (Thursday-Sunday).
Expectations
All board members are expected to follow the festival's Board Member Code of Conduct and By-Laws.
