Volunteer Role - Beaverdale Fall Festival - Board of Directors
The Director of Volunteerism is responsible for recruiting, training, and managing volunteers to support the successful execution of the festival.
Key Responsibilities
Volunteer Recruitment & Management:
Recruit and engage volunteers for various roles during the festival.
Develop and implement volunteer training programs.
Manage volunteer needs, schedule, and assignments.
Coordinate volunteer check-in and orientation on festival days.
Volunteer Appreciation:
Recognize and appreciate volunteer contributions.
Foster a positive and rewarding volunteer experience.
Volunteer Systems Management:
Manage the volunteer registration system (e.g., VolunteerLocal).
Board Support:
Actively participate in Board meetings and contribute to effective governance.
Provide input on volunteer-related decisions and strategies.
Preferred Qualifications
Passion for the Beaverdale Community.
Experience in volunteer management, recruitment, or community outreach.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Comfortable using online technologies, including Google Drive/Gmail.
Time Commitment
3-year term
Regular Board meetings and additional time for various duties.
A larger time commitment in the months around the Festival (July through Mid October)
Availability on-site during the festival, including setup and tear-down (Thursday-Sunday).
Expectations
All board members are expected to follow the festival's Board Member Code of Conduct and By-Laws.
