Volunteer Role - Beaverdale Fall Festival - Board of Directors
The Director of Ground Events is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing a diverse range of engaging events and entertainment experiences for the Beaverdale Fall Festival.
Key Responsibilities
Event Planning & Management:
Develop and manage the festival's grounds event schedule, including, competitive and non-competitive events, the carnival, and Car Night.
Oversee all special events and entertainment, ensuring a safe, organized, and well-staffed environment.
Manage relationships with event vendors (carnival, horse rides, etc.), ensuring appropriate contracts and insurance.
Collaborate with other directors to ensure smooth event logistics and coordination.
Board Support:
Actively participate in Board meetings and contribute to effective governance.
Provide input on festival event-related decisions and strategies.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in event planning, coordination, or entertainment management.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Enthusiasm for creating engaging and memorable event experiences.
Time Commitment
3-year term
Regular Board meetings and additional time for various duties.
A larger time commitment in the months around the Festival (July through Mid October)
Availability on-site during the festival, including setup and tear-down (Thursday-Sunday).
Expectations
All board members are expected to follow the festival's Board Member Code of Conduct and By-Laws.
